| How to configure the TCP/IP networking from the Command prompt | |||||
| Non DHCP
1) Make a note of the IP Address and Subnet Mask you require to be set 2) Enter the command prompt, F12 or CTRL-F12 3) At the * prompt type ifconfig ex0 i.e *ifconfig ex0 192.168.1.50 255.255.255.0 4) To check if this has been correctly set, type *ifconfig ex0 This will return your ip address and subnet mask. To check for network connectivity use the Ping command to ping another computer or router on the network i.e. ping 192.168.1.1 Assuming the device you are pinging is active on the network you will get a reply. 5) Networking now manually configured DHCP 1) Enter the command prompt, F12 or CTRL-F12 2) DHCP ex0 3) To check an IP Address has bound to the card, type * DHCPStatus To check for network connectivity use the Ping command to ping another computer or router on the network i.e. ping 192.168.1.1 Assuming the device you are pinging is active on the network you will get a reply.4) Networking now configured by DHCP 4) Networking now configured by DHCP | |||||
